End of The Harvest is a movie about a debate between college students who believe in philosophy and those who believe in Jesus Christ. The two debates had contrasting results. Before I get into the main aspect of this movie, we need to see what drove these two debates.
The movie starts with a college student named Matt waking up from a dream. In the dream, he was standing in a wheat field, watching an older man harvesting the wheat with a sickle. He didn’t think much about it and went about his day. That evening, he went to a debate where one of his friends, who had recently become a Christian, tried to discuss God’s existence with the Philosophy Club members. He was unable to convey the information correctly or succinctly. So, the whole discussion was a failure.
Scott was very upset about how the members of the philosophy club treated his friend, Todd. He wanted to find a way to get back to those Philosophy Club members. He spoke to Matt and Jess about evening the score with those atheists. Matt and Jess were so keen about it. During their discussion, Jess mentioned that Matt discovered a paper dealing with the end of the world. Matt was reluctant to disclose that information but eventually revealed that fifty years ago, a man named Jeffrey Bartell wrote a college paper that the Bible reveals when the world will end.
Scott decided to find that paper, read it, and then use it to present its findings to the Philosophy Club and get even with those atheists for Todd. Little did Scott know that the club members researched Scott and his character. They found several discretions that caused them to label Scott as a hypocrite.
Matt had another dream of the same guy harvesting the wheat, but this dream ended differently. The man stopped harvesting and handed the sickle to Matt., and then he woke up. He was confused by the dream and told no one about it.
Scott backed out of the debate and asked Matt to take his place. He told Matt that he needed to get right with the Lord. Reluctantly, Matt went to the Philosophy Club discussion meeting and tried to inform the people attending that Scott would not present his case. Matt tried to end the meeting, but an older woman egged Matt to present the findings of Jeffrey Bartell’s paper. Matt caved in and expounded on what the paper said along with the Bible.
The Scriptures used in the discussion were the following: Isaiah 46, Isaiah 48, 2 Peter 3:8, Psalm 90, Revelation 20, Hosea 6:2, Exodus 19:11, John 11, Matthew 17:1, Genesis 6, Romans 3:20, Romans 3:23, and 1 John 5:11 – 12.
The rating for this movie is appropriate for everyone to watch it.
I recommend this movie. I hope you will enjoy it and encourage your faith.
